I was born in Kobe, a city by the sea, and lived an ordinary life in my hometown of Kobe until I was 18 years old.
From a young age, I had a dream to be independent and start my own business, so when I entered university in Osaka, I joined a student company run only by students.
Even as a student, I was on the forefront of business, learning it through various experiences, and it was around this time that I awoke to the joy of business.
Even though I didn’t have any money or recognition, I used my ingenuity to create products and services. I felt a greatest joy when they helped customers and made them happy or created even a small movement.
After graduating from university, I joined Recruit , a company known for producing many entrepreneurs.
While working to support companies in all industries in hiring, training, and organizational revitalization at Recruit, I gained social and business experience, and was preparing to start my own business.
After working at Recruit for five years, I was ready to go independent in the sales of daily goods.
It was smooth sailing for the first year after I went independent.
However, at that time, I made a mistake of youth of being so focused on immediate sales that I forgot the importance of customer satisfaction, which is the basis of business.
Sales gradually began to fall in the second year.
I tried desperately to get sales back up, but it was already too late.
Finally, one day, all I had in my wallet was 50 yen.
On that day, I gave up the business that I had been running for about two years.
